San Diego Old Town (2 of 2)

San Diego Old Town Cosmopolitan hotel Wagon

Canon 5D Mark II, 17-40mm f/4 USM at 20mm, f/13 for 1/80 at ISO 200, circular polarizer

With the second Old Town shot I had much more time to compose and get the exposure I wanted. I used the wagon as the foreground with the beautiful Cosmopolitan Hotel as the background. I find the lines of the wagon, hotel and steps complement each other and the gentle curve of the walkway provides a break and sharp contrast to those lines. And of course it helps to have a gorgeous San Diego sky with some nice clouds. Luckily there were not too many people on this day so I was able to also get an uncultured frame. I did visit again on another occasion during sunset, but found too many people walking around to get a clean shot.
